Adina is Las Vegas’ newest dynamic fitness and dance instructor. In a city known for life and movement, Adina is excited about educating, motivating, and inspiring others to get in shape. Specializing in Jamaican Dancehall techniques, she allows her clients to experience an authentic Caribbean workout. Certified as a group fitness instructor, she teaches a unique and vibrant form she calls Dancehall Aerobics. From ages 7 to 55, individuals or groups are welcome to come learn what Jamaican dance culture is all about in a fun and healthy way.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Adina brings to her craft a rich cultural heritage. The daughter of a Guyanese mother and a Jamaican father, she’s always had a passion for creative expression. As a young girl, she showed an early talent for dancing and watching others dance. She wanted, however, to be inspired as well, and she looked to her own cultural roots. Fascinated by Jamaican culture and dance, she wanted to combine her love of fitness and Dancehall Aerobics was born.
Since 2011, Adina has been teaching Dancehall Aerobics fitness classes throughout Brooklyn, Queens, New York, Washington State and San Diego, California. Her programs have enjoyed enormous success and fantastic reviews. She’s produced a Fitness DVD – “Adina Tek Di Dancefloor,” and trained other instructors in her innovative dance format. She believes people can tell stories with their bodies, whether those stories be calming, exciting, or seductive. Music moves inside a person, and dancing is freedom. Sharing that message has been at the core of her work with several volunteer organizations, such as the NYC Dance Parade, in which she taught inner city youth the art of Jamaican dance for performance in the parade. She’s spent time working with young girls helping them learn that they can do whatever they dream.
Adina is also a mother to two beautiful boys. One of the things she’s passionate about is helping other parents through dance and fitness. She knows exactly how difficult it can be to find time for working out, or even just for enjoyment, when you’re a parent. Dancehall Aerobics is for everyone. You don’t have to be a dancer to join you just have be open to learn try something new and want to dance. By combining dancehall dancing and fitness, Adina will teach you how to get fit while participating in the vibrancy of the Jamaican cultural experience.
